Nursing Science
Nursing Science
Nursing sciences in the Master’s Program of the Health Science Department consists of basic/community and clinical nursing sciences that approach education and research. Students can take Certified Nurse Specialist courses including Critical Certified Nurse Specialist and Oncology Certified Nurse Specialist courses. Focusing on the issues and concerns that postgraduate students notice during nursing practices, “nursing” practices are discussed from a scientific viewpoint through the course of subjects, i.e., advanced lectures and seminars. Students then improve their research capabilities in nursing sciences to write their master’s thesis. The Doctoral Program consists of community health nursing science, highly invasive care nursing science, mother-child development and genetics nursing sciences, and gerontological nursing science. Research for preparing doctoral theses is conducted on the basis of previous research activities by postgraduate students. During presentations of their thesis plans and intermediate presentations, for example, students make their presentation in front of many researchers and may then receive pleiotropic advice from a professional viewpoint. In addition, students learn together with postgraduate students from “the Laboratory Science Section,” which enables exchanges among postgraduate students of different areas. In the postgraduate school, there are many opportunities for making acquaintances among postgraduate students, teachers, and professionals in charge of seminars and research field, leading to the expansion of a human network–a great attraction. We hope that you feel the true attraction of mastering nursing science in the Yamaguchi University.
