STTIとは、1922年に米国インディアナポリスで創設された看護国際名誉学会（Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International：STTI）であり、看護領域ではICN(国際看護師協会)に次いで2番目に大きな組織です。世界の85か国以上に渡って約500の支部があり，13万人以上の看護師が活動しています。看護の科学的基礎を高め，世界中の人々の健康を促進することを使命とし，臨床・教育・研究においてリーダーシップを発揮できる人材育成を行っています。本学は，平成17年に本邦初の支部として認可され，平成18年に，「Tau Nu Chapter」として設立されました。国内外からの専門家を招いて，アカデミックミーティング（教育講演会）を年間2～3回開催しております。入会にあたって、ナース・リーダーとして活躍していることが求められますが、本校の学生の場合、優秀な成績を修めた学生は卒業時に入会することができます。現在，約120名の会員で構成されています。

Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) was founded in 1922 at Indianapolis, USA. The first chapter in Japan was established in the Nursing department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Yamaguchi University. Membership is offered only to undergraduate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing. The mission of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International is to support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide. Our chapter comprises approximately 120 members.
