Republic f Guinea was featured at the 6th Africa Fair

2024.3.4

As a part of the "Inter-University Exchange Project" adopted by MEXT in 2020, the 6th Africa Fair was held on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

This time we focus on the Republic of Guinea, located in West Africa. Ms. Camara I Bountouraby and Mr. Toure Siaka, both Guinean students enrolled in the first-year master course at the Graduate School of Sciences and Technology for Innovation, introduced the fascinations of their home country. Mr. Toure wore a “pagne forêt sacrée” made using a traditional Guinean dyeing technique, which caught the attention of the participants.

Guinea has many tourist attractions that make use of its magnificent nature. Ethnic instruments and Guinean cuisine were also introduced, giving the audience a different African atmosphere to that of Ghana, Rwanda and Kenya.

The presentation ended on a high note, with questions from students, faculty and staff, and a session with Prof. Hayasaka, Head of the Programme Management.

Although this was the last Africa Fair in AY2023, there are still many African students studying at the University. We plan to hold various events in the future to provide opportunities to deepen understanding of the Africa and to promote exchange with the Africans both inside and outside the university.
