What is JEAI?
Journal of East Asian Identities (JEAI) is an open-access and peer reviewed journal, and is published annually by Editorial Committee mainly composed of a part of faculty members of Yamaguchi University and College of Liberal Arts, TamKang University. JEAI aims to promote research activities and provide an interdisciplinary forum on East Asia Identities.
History of JEAI
In 2008, Yamaguchi Study Group, a research group of Faculty of Education, Yamaguchi University, invited professors of College of Liberal Arts, TamKang University, to conduct academic exchanges. Since then, the faculty members of Faculty of Education and College of Liberal Arts have deepened academic exchanges, such as mutual visits and joint holding of research groups.In July 2013, based on the achievements of exchange, Faculty of Education and College of Liberal Arts concluded an exchange agreement to develop academic and educational collaboration and to promote friendly relations between the faculty and the college.
From 2015 to 2017, the faculty members of Faculty of Education and College of Liberal Arts promoted a project, entitled "Toward the Elucidation of the Mechanism in East Asian Identity Building" as a priority focus project of Yamaguchi University. One of the goals of the project is to publish an international journal, "Journal of East Asian Identities".
On March 31, 2016, Vol. 1 of Journal of East Asian Identities is published. Currently, papers are submitted not only from both of Faculty of Education and College of Liberal Arts but also from overseas.
