• 明治維新で近代日本を切り拓いた山口。２００年の歴史と伝統を糧に、山口大学は「発見し・はぐくみ・かたちにする　知の広場」の理念のもと、未来の世界をリードする人材の育成に全力で取り組みます。
• Yamaguchi was the center of the Meiji Restoration and it was Japan’s gateway to modernization. Yamaguchi University (YU), with 200 years of history and tradition behind it, follows the motto “Place of Wisdom: Discover it, Nourish it, and Realize it” and strives to make every effort to foster human resources to lead the future of the world.

Fundamental Policy

1. Make Yamaguchi University open to the world, raise the research standards of the University and contribute to the world.
2. Promote the study abroad of the University’s students in order to contribute to the development of internationally-educated people and people who are active in international society.
3. Promote the acceptance of international students to deepen their understanding of Japan.
4. Contribute to world peace, academia and culture through international exchange among students, faculty and staff.
5. Strive for internationalisation with a view to working with national and international universities.
6. All organisations and members of YU will set their own roles for internationalisation and make efforts for the internationalisation of YU.
