A four-member delegation from the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL), led by Rector Prof Dr Joviano Antonio da Costa, visited Yamaguchi University on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The visit included a courtesy call on President Yukio Tanizawa and faculty tours as part of a JICA project.

During the courtesy call, the delegation expressed their appreciation for our university’s project support spanning over 15 years. They also shared ideas on university management in Japan over a working lunch.

Later in the afternoon, the visitors toured the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering. In addition to discussing educational and research initiatives with professors, they visited research facilities and met with UNTL trainees currently studying at Yamaguchi University.

Since 2011, Yamaguchi University has been promoting multifaceted exchanges with UNTL through the dispatch of faculty members, short-term training programmes, and the acceptance of international students in degree programmes. We hope this visit will serve as a catalyst to further strengthen our partnership and enhance future academic exchange.
