On Friday, December 22, 2023, Ms. Yukie NAKAO, a Japanese language teacher at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures of Nantes University, France, visited Yamaguchi University. Ms. Nakao has been conducting research exchanges with Associate Professor Aiko MIYANAGA of the YU International Student Center and came to YU to discuss the possibility of concluding an international exchange agreement between the two Universities. Since student exchange through study abroad is likely to be a central part of the cooperative activities with YU, meetings were held with the faculty members of the Faculty of Global and Science Studies, which has incorporated a one-year exchange program into its curriculum, and with the International Student Support Section.

Professor LOEHR MARC the Faculty of Global and Science Studies, who attended the meeting, expressed strong interest in the content offered by Nantes University, while Ms. Nakao wanted to add YU to the list of destinations for students who hope to study in Japan at the University. The discussion was fruitful toward the realization of an exchange program between the two universities.
