On Monday, 21st October, Alexandra Bellanger, Director of the Service Universitaire des Languages (SUL), a language centre at the University of Nantes, France, visited Yamaguchi University, where she paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Ishii for International Cooperation and held discussions with faculty members from relevant departments.

In June of this year, Yamaguchi University signed a MOU with the University of Nantes. In anticipation of the full-scale start of the exchange programme, Ms. Bellanger introduced the French language courses and the e-Tandem programme offered by SUL. The e-Tandem programme pairs two students with different native languages, allowing them to learn each other’s language and culture online This system allows students from both universities to interact freely, providing Yamaguchi University students with valuable learning opportunities. Following the courtesy call to the Vice-President Ishii, Ms. Bellanger also held a discussion with professors from the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Global and Science Studies, where ideas were exchanged to strengthen collaboration between the two universities.
