On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Dean, Teguh and Vice Dean, Agung from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Indonesia visited Yamaguchi University.

They met with Prof. Yuri Ishii, Vice President for International Cooperation, Prof. Koichi Sato, Vice President for Research Promotion, Prof. Masahisa Watarai, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Hiroshi Sato, and Associate Prof. Masayasu Taniguchi, and smiled as they discussed the past and future exchanges between Yamaguchi University and UGM, and the new short-term student training program to be launched at UGM.

UGM and YU signed an interdepartmental agreement between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in February 2008, followed by an interdepartmental agreement between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UGM and the Faculty of Agriculture, YU in April of the same year, leading to the conclusion of an interuniversity agreement in October of the same year. When the agreement was renewed in 2023, a Student Exchange Agreement was signed between the universities, allowing for university-wide student exchanges. The UGM is an important partner institution with which we have had a continuous exchange of students and researchers for many years, and we hope that this active exchange will continue to develop throughout the university
