Detection of quadratic phase coupling by cross-bicoherence and spectral Granger causality in bifrequencies interactions
Graduate School of Medicine, Yamaguchi University (Department of Medicine) A research group led by Assistant Professor Takeshi Abe of the AI Systems Medicine and Healthcare Research Education Center, Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine Hospital, and Professor Yoshiyuki Asai of Systems Bioinformatics, Graduate School of Medicine (Medical Major), has demonstrated through collaborative research with the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, that a statistical process model simulating periodic biological signals can efficiently detect nonlinear interactions between time series using higher-order spectral analysis techniques.
