Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein autoantibody associated with blood-nerve barrier breakdown in Guillain-Barré syndrome
A research group led by Associate Professor Fumitaka Shimizu of the Department of Clinical Neurology, Graduate School of Medicine (Medical Sciences), Yamaguchi University; Professor Michiaki Koga of the Department of Clinical Nursing Science, Graduate School of Medicine (Health Sciences); Professor Yoichi Mizukami of the Resource Development Division (Genetic Experiment Facility), Integrated Science Experimental Center; and Assistant Professor Kenji Watanabe has discovered snRNP antibodies, novel autoantibodies that disrupt the blood-nerve barrier in Guillain-Barré syndrome.
