Wound-healing effects of frozen-thawed allogeneic fibroblast sheet transplantation and xenogeneic fibroblast cell sheet transplantation cultured on a new substrate
【Allogeneic Fibroblast Sheets Suitable for Cryopreservation Effective in Treating Refractory Ulcers】
A research group from Yamaguchi University and Central Glass Co., Ltd. has reported the therapeutic efficacy of allogeneic cryopreserved fibroblast sheets using the newly developed substrate “CY-1.” This cell sheet can be mass-produced and cryopreserved, then thawed and transplanted as needed, contributing to cost reduction in regenerative medicine.
The study confirmed that this cell sheet demonstrated excellent therapeutic effects in mouse skin ulcer models and rat esophageal suture models. Using CY-1 also established a seamless method from cell sheet production to transplantation.
These research findings are anticipated as a new treatment option for refractory ulcers. Joint research continues, aiming for early clinical application.
