*Notice* Yamaguchi Prefecture Launches New Certification System for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Countermeasures ~“Cardiometabolic Care Physician” Program Aims to Prevent Disease Progression Through Enhanced Collaboration Between Primary Care Physicians and Specialists~
Yamaguchi Prefecture has announced the “Yamaguchi Prefecture Cardiometabolic (CKM) Physician” system as a new strategy to address chronic kidney disease (CKD), a major health issue for its residents.
This system aims to prevent CKD progression and extend residents’ healthy life expectancy by strengthening collaboration between primary care physicians and specialized medical institutions, thereby promoting early detection and treatment.
From Yamaguchi University, Lecturer Masaki Shibuya (Medicine and Clinical Science), Professor Koji Shiraishi (Urology), and Professor Yasuharu Ota (Endocrinology, Metabolism, Hematological Sciences and Therapeutics) are participating as members of the Yamaguchi Prefecture Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Countermeasures Expert Committee (Chair: Professor Motoaki Sano). They will fully support this new prefectural initiative.
