Extracellular vesicle microRNAs from human bone marrow MSCs suppress fibrogenesis of hepatic stellate cells by downregulation of RhoA signaling
The research achievement by Dr. Toshihiko Matsumoto and Dr. Taro Takami (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) of the Division of Advanced Cell Therapy has been accepted for publication in the journal Stem Cells.
They reported the mechanism by which bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells suppress the fibrogenesis of hepatic stellate cells via microRNAs within extracellular vesicles.
These findings could potentially lead to the development of next-generation therapeutic strategies for liver cirrhosis using synthetic microRNAs.
