*Report* In-House Seminar Held

On Friday, September 18, 2026, a seminar titled “The Future of Data-Driven Medicine: How AI/Machine Learning Opens New Frontiers in Respiratory Care” was held by Dr. Kazuki Hamada from the Department of Systems Medicine and Informatics in the Seminar Room on the 5th floor of the Ishukan Building, Kogushi Campus.

Dr. Hamada discussed how the application of AI is expected to address critical healthcare challenges, such as the rise in frailty, nursing care needs, multimorbidity among the aging population, and increasing medical and social security expenses due to polypharmacy, while also contributing to reducing regional disparities in healthcare.

He further explained that introducing AI technologies will help reduce the workload of healthcare professionals, improve the efficiency of documentation tasks, suppress costs associated with advanced treatments, and promote the standardization of medical care across the nation.

Additionally, Dr. Asai, Head of the Division, proposed collaborative opportunities that go beyond providing medical data analysis, inviting informal consultations within the research institute.

Through these ongoing activities, our institute will continue to make further strides toward fulfilling its mission.
